Dr Michael W. Schulte

Stafford Smiles mourns the passing of its founder Dr. Michael W. Schulte – a staunch advocate for Stafford . He touched the lives of thousands of people in our community. His memory will continue to live among his family, patients and colleagues.Dr. Michael W. Schulte, D.D.S., 60, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. He was born May 5, 1953, in Duluth, Minn., to Richard L. and Honor A. Schulte. He graduated from JEB Stuart High School, Falls Church, where he excelled in wrestling. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and his Dental degree from The Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Schulte practiced dentistry in Stafford for more than 30 years and was well known and will be remembered in the community for being tenderhearted and caring. He provided extensive pro bono dental care to the less fortunate in the community, often after they had been turned away from other practices. He spent a lot of his time and energy supplying love and dental care to orphans in Nicaragua as well as building and maintaining an orphanage and school. His other passions included flying his plane and showering selfless love and support on his family and friends. Dr. Schulte had an incredible zest for life and will be truly missed by all.Dr. Schulte is survived by his loving wife, Rita; daughter Ashley and son Michael and his cherished five grandchildren.Dr. Patricia Reategui has taken over the dental practice and is committed to continuing Dr. Schulte’s pioneering work.
